It’s been a while.

In the past couple of months a lot of have changed. I focused intently on physical therapy, leading to being able to get around using a cane, finally. I started driving again. A lot.

Me and a friend from Philadelphia launched the most extensive, feature rich, fan site ever created for Regina Spektor (http://spektorsthesaurus.com) which led to constant, frequent interactions with Regina herself.

All the while war down south is raging, and war up north is looming. Had some quality family time to.

But throughout this, an uneasy feeling of disappointing myself kept creeping in, gnawing at me. My tendency to not be able to consistently form new habits always made me suspect I have some form of ADHD or ADD, which i still believe is true. Add to that the fact I chose overly complicated songs to release this time, which took me a loooooong while to get to.

Still, those are excuses. I’m hoping to find my stride again, keep releasing more songs consistently (of which I have a bunch awaiting). I did also start writing again – now that some songs left the chamber, there’s room from new ones to see day light, which is fulfilling.

Hope this isn’t yet another promise which will stay unfulfilled, I’ll do my best to see this through.

This week sees another two translations, and one original song.

1. Angeles – an old translation of mine, this time i tried reproducing the original record. I grew up in Tel Aviv, and there are certain similarities which are ubiquitous through all major cities, so making Elliott’s L.A. narrative fit Tel Aviv wasn’t a tough task.

2. B-e-a-utiful – one of Kaveret’s (Poogy’s) most famous songs, an Israeli classic. It was the first song I translated following my hospitalization in the neurologic rehab department in Sheba hospital, post the surgery that left me wheel chair bound for a long, long time. The bulk of the time spent recording and procrastinating this release was spent on this song, and the solo, which I don’t feel I captured perfectly – but I’m done postponing it. Besides, it’s a demo!

3. Salt Waltz – another song from the batch of post breakup songs I already released a couple of songs from (Hunger Games, being another).. I’ve experimented with different production techniques this time around, to keep things fresh.
